Martin Sargent
From Hak5
Martin Sargent is a comedian and a television/podcast personality famous for his work on the TechTV channel.
Call For Help
Martin's original calling (pardon the pun) was on the Leo Laporte-hosted Call for Help. He acted as what he called a "craft professional", and occasionally would co-host the show with Leo. He became bored after a while and decided to change shows.
The Screen Savers
Sargent changed to the linked TechTV show The Screen Savers, also with Laporte, and became notorious on the show for his "twisted lists", random top-five lists he would present to viewers on the show that most likely served in an entertainment capacity. He also became known during his TSS tenure for his "Site of the Night" segment, in which he would showcase an obscure or odd web site for viewers to visit. (Quite possibly, this led to Sarah Lane taking up a similar role when she joined the show.)
Unscrewed
Sargent left The Screen Savers in 2003 after TechTV announced a new late-night schedule. Sargent created a new show, Unscrewed, which was a no-holds-barred talk show featuring such oddities as nude painters and included a lot of innuendo and potentially offensive speaking.
Unscrewed followed the G4TechTV merger onto the combined network, only to be cancelled shortly after arriving in Los Angeles.
Infected
Today, Sargent is the host of comedy podcast Infected, distributed by Revision 3. The podcast is presented in discussion format, and features other characters such as Joey the Intern and the occasional fake call-in.
