Childhood
TomB's childhood was like most geek childhoods. At the age of 5, he discovered linux and FOSS and instantly fell in love with the idea. After writing several languages for the linux platform, including emerald and pie (more on that later), he started on a much bigger project. The yfce window manager and desktop was quite possibly the best one designed. However due to an error in linux, all of the source code was lost on his 18th birthday. Rumor has it that this catastrophic event is what caused TomB to turn to the dark side. After being told to RTFM several times, he gave up on linux and FOSS.
Recent History
After his tragic accident with linux, TomB started coding his own OS, thus Affinity was born. Since he had no Windows Licenses and refused to use linux, he coded Affinity in binary. Seeing that programming in binary could take a while (but still feasable for the 1337 TomB), he got a job at Microsoft to help with Vista, for the sole purpose of obtaining a free copy of Windows. The day after, Vista shipped (due to TomB's programming), but TomB was given no credit due to middle-management disputes. TomB was promptly fired and pirated a copy of Windows XP, but not before obtaining the LM hashes of every employee of Microsoft. His plans for these hashes are still unknown. Recently, TomB has spotted hanging around on IRC, pwning noobs and arguing with anyone who supports FOSS.
FOSS projects
Emerald: Emerald Was TomB's first of 2 scripting languages. Its easy to use functionality made it suitable for web development. This language was later ripped off and renamed to Ruby.
Pie: Like other IPTV hosts, TomB loves pie. So much that he named his 2nd scripting language after it. Used extensively in minor scripting and learning general programming principals, this language was also ripped off after TomB's turn to the dark side. It was renamed into python, giving some tribute to the original name and recognizing its new project owner, thon.
