[edit] Play More With Your Computer
A list of information for controlling your computer and programs with your Wii Remote.
[edit] Darwiin Remote
With this you can control some of the keyboard function as well as get courser movement. The latter function works more accurately when feeding the Wii remote some IR sensor placement data either through the the one on the Wii or a home made version.
Darwiin-Remote was the most notiable of the Wii remote programs that synced a Wii remote via bluetooth to the computer, more specifically Macs. First posted in a blog that is mostly in Japanesse but has some english for those that can read english.
He made it available in an Universal Binary .dmg and also posted the source code for others to improve upon; in which many people have and very quickly. Also Darwiin Remote helped genrate the windows version Wiinremote
The Darwiin-Remote was then moved onto Sourceforge where it has gone from version 0.1a to 0.4a!
[edit] Others
Some of the projects and programs out that use the Wii remote in some form.
- A quick google search finds this fellow's Glovepie project which seems a little weird with all the V.R. stuff he mentions but deserves some looking into as it is suppose to do some interesting things with the Wii remote.
- The Wii to Midi project looks like it could be useful for some very creative projects involveing music and the Wii remote.
- A good commercial solution that contains some good Wii Remote functions is Remote Buddy. It contains a lot of features for other remotes if you already have a different one for your Mac.
[edit] Extra Stuff at the End
There are a number of projects involving the Wii and this is the part that mentions those.
- Wiili.org is a collection of projects gathered to getting Linux on the Wii or Wii on Linux.
- ""There are more but I will leave it open for others to edit in here""
